Visualize a zipfile like a suitcase. It is simply a container for your "belongings" in the computer, that are folders, files, directories. It differs however, from a suitcase in two important ways:

Open zipfiles Click on the Open Zipfile button will invoke a dialog box in which you can open an existing or a new (empty) zipfile The dialog will display long filenames in 32-bit operation systems, orDrag existing zipfiles or encoded files (as many as you want) from the Explorer or File Manager and drop them to ZipServer. ZipServer will open automatically all zipfiles within an encoded file. The content of each opened zipfile will be displayed in its own window .Unzip files Drag the destination (where you want to uncompress to) folder from the Explorer to the Destination area or simply type the destination path.Select the file(s) in the zipdirectory. Hold down the Ctrl key and drag the selected files to the destination area. Zip files Drag the folder(s) from the Explorer and drop them to the zipdirectory area. |

From your program |
Zipserver includes an ActiveX for programming. You can do from your own VB, VBA, Delphi, PowerBuilder, C++, FoxPro program the same that the utility does. Sample code and online help is included. The ActiveX supports both 32 and 16-bit programming languages. |
